Living in cities will make you look for space, around and above. You start yearning for an expanse of something else than concrete and people; you need to confront the power and size of nature to feel at peace again. I first fell in love with New York because it was so much larger than me; then with Holland because of its never-ending horizons, its vastness, and its incredible light. I like feeling tiny. And I like feeling like I can run forever, the sun on my face, entirely free.
